Mixed reactions followed a viral video of a female corps member wearing a long skirt in the NYSC camp.
The lady believed to be in the Oyo State camp stood out in the unconventional NYSC outfit, in a video shared by @instablog9ja on Instagram.

The unidentified lady was also captured preaching the gospel to other members of the body, which led to some argument between them.

Her long skirt seemed to have pleats. The lady’s outfit is quite different from the common NYSC uniform which consists of shorts worn by both male and female corps members.
Some netizens believed that the outfit of the female body member was due to her religious belief.

Group advocates for skirts to be included in NYSC uniform
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a group staged a protest in Abuja demanding that skirts be included in the NYSC uniform.
The group said not allowing female members of the corps to wear skirts is a violation of their rights as guaranteed by the Nigerian constitution.

Udochi Emmanuel, who is the leader of the group, said that female corps members wearing pants evoke immorality in the camps.
She claimed that female members of the corps in the 1970s and 1980s wore skirts and urged the government to re-enact it.
