Former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo believes India has allowed him to be the brand he is today. He added that the love of the Indian people made the country very close to his heart. Besides his cricket career and musical singles, Bravo will now start a new round in fashion with ‘Djb47 Fashion Label’ available online with a physical store launch slated for early next year in India.
“Very, very special. I don’t think I would have been half of the brand that I am today without India. It’s an honest truth and I’m grateful to have a big presence in a country who is so far from home. The love I received from people there definitely means India is very close to my heart. That is why most of the things I do when it comes music, clothing or cricket, whatever I do will always have an Indian presence, “Bravo said in an exclusive conversation with IANS, hosted by 3 Big Dogs PTe Ltd and DNH Media.
Speaking of playing cricket in a bio-bubble environment, Bravo admitted his challenges but focused on the positive side.
“For me personally, there have been times when it’s difficult and then there have been times when you have to understand. I mean, despite the pandemic, a lot of people have lost their jobs and some people have lost their lives. . We have to be thankful that we can still work, play, earn and entertain my fans all over the world. So I always look on the positive side and the better of things. This is how I deal with (bio-bubbles) in the pandemic. “
At the same time, the 38-year-old is hopeful that the bio-bubble environment will be over soon.
“As players, hopefully this will end soon. Obviously it will have an impact on players. You see a lot of players pulling out of tournaments because of the bio-bubble. So that kind of plays out. sort a role on you mentally. I think cricket authorities might take a close look to see how long they keep the bubble scenario going. But at the same time, most players will still prefer to be in a bio-bubble. and play than not play, ”Bravo told IANS.
For Bravo, balancing its businesses off the pitch with its commitments on the pitch is about getting people to pursue its various passions.
“Well, part is managed and balanced, but part is managed by others. So it’s about knowing what I want to do. Trying to have the right team and the right people to believe in my passion. and my dream and trying to execute it So that’s our collective team effort, not just based on me.
“Getting involved in fashion is something that I always love to dress up. Now have my own brand and now people want to wear my own brand and stuff. So it’s a step in the right direction and something that I always visualize seeing this and seeing myself as a brand that people want to be associated with, ”Bravo said.
“See it as a brand, a trendy brand that attracts young people, children and their parents to wear clothes made by the DJ Bravo brand. Hopefully it grows not only in India but in places like the Australia, the UK, the Caribbean and the US That’s the ultimate goal, ”Bravo concluded.
