“But to each one of us grace has been given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” (Romans 12:18 KJV)
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all. Amen.” (2 Corinthians 13:14 KJV)
“If it is possible, as much as it depends on you, live in peace with all men. (Romans 12:16 KJV)
It’s a true story. It’s about me and mine. So please stay with me as I share this beautiful moment in time that I experienced on Friday night, July 8th.
My son is a singer, from Nashville, Tennessee, and I wanted to go see him so badly, and I planned to go with two loving friends. These plans fell through at the last minute. I was still worried about Covid due to my heart issue and my allergies hadn’t been very “cooperative”, last week.
Praying, putting me back in a “calm” phase, my son called and everything went very well. He was able to meet me and welcome me as a guest and I was good to go!
I knew his father was going to be there. Needless to say, we really haven’t spoken much in over 20 years. Married 29…things happen, but by the grace of God…there was a spiritual moment about to happen!
I was hesitant and stood still when I saw my son’s father approaching me. There was a “time of grace” that surrounded everyone who was there. God lifted all worry and it felt like I was in heaven, having met a person so many years ago and now “everything was fine”. (Quote from Saint Julian of Norwich). There was another person there too that hadn’t been there long, maybe, an unbeliever, I’m not sure. So I walk lightly when I talk about God around them. I never make judgmental remarks, just listen and pray.
Sometimes that’s all we can do is pray for those who aren’t on the ‘same road’, we travel, and I feel like God has a plan for anyone on the road that I’m not following. not, so eventually, hopefully, all of us will grow in loving faith for our Father!
During the night, so many people came to me that I had not seen for so long… my heart was overflowing with joy. A friend who spoke to me had asked me to pray for her fish during the power outage, as I have a page on FB to pray for animals. Yes, one could think “fish”. Yes, indeed, she and her family have quite a few fish and some big ones. Of most concern was the level of oxygen in the water. So she wrote and asked for prayers and I put it on my page. It was so joyful to hear that the fish had survived and, again, “everything was fine”.
I thank God for my faith…I know it’s really “childish” and I feel so at home in the presence of my Father, who is everywhere I go!
The experience of meeting new people, the one I met needed love… He was a young man and I felt so drawn to him. He stood by my side as I watched my son and my band perform. No need to go into my story any further here, however, God has given so many people the “grace” to be kind, loving, caring, and protective of others. Praise be to God, indeed!
Also, I had a fantastic encounter with quite a few Fort Wayne police officers! The joy of being by their side, with my son, as I tried to figure out how my husband was going to pick me up, faded when my son and I walked to the area where my husband was parked, and other policemen passed us. by on their bikes. Not that they were watching over me, they were watching to make sure “everything was okay”, at every location at the Three Rivers Festival.
So I called the desk sergeant and told him how much I appreciate all of these caring and vigilant police officers, who put their lives on the line to care about you and me, when we are on the move. They don’t get enough good press as far as I’m concerned. I will now pray for them daily, as well as for their families and pets. And, I certainly won’t forget to pray for the K-9 officers as well.
So, I will never forget the “moment” in time when “all was well”, in Fort Wayne, Indiana on July 8, 2022. I saw true grace, forgiveness and peace, I believe for the first time in my life.
May you all be so blessed that one day, somewhere, you will experience your grace among, perhaps, those who were once your “enemies”.
May God bless you, your family and your animal companions as you go forward this week in search of grace, peace and love to all, and may you also give grace, peace and love to everyone you meet. “In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.”
