4 quick microwaveable desserts to quench your cravings

0

Every once in a while you feel that urge, that certain urge, but you’re either stuck in your office, home office, or very comfortable on the couch with no energy to whip up anything. And then there is nothing around the house and yet nothing in the world that would get you out. I can’t blame you, especially now that the weather is getting colder.

So hang in there, because I have very quick desserts for you that require a minimum of time and effort and that you can enjoy whenever you want!

Churro in a cup

To be fair, nothing beats a real churro. This crunch is just amazing, and if you’re craving something cinnamon and chocolatey, it’s definitely going to scratch your itch. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and let me tell you, it comes in handy when working from home! Just grab a mug, mix all the ingredients together, and before anyone notices you’ve left the computer, you’re back in line with a delicious dessert to get you through the rest of the shift.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons of milk
  • 4 tablespoons of flour
  • A little baking powder
  • A little cinnamon, both in and on top
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 1 tablespoon of chocolate chips
  • A little more sugar

Instructions

Put all the ingredients except the chocolate chips in a mug and mix with a spoon or fork until there are no more lumps. Open the middle a little and throw in the chocolate chips and close it with a little dough. Cook it in the microwave for a minute. The cake should have risen a little and should not stick to the top. Depending on your microwave, you may need to cook it a bit longer. But it is certainly better to have it a little undercooked than dry. Sprinkle on a little sugar and a little cinnamon and make yourself a small cup of churro.

advice

Don’t hesitate to experiment! While I like having the chocolate in the middle, it’s even better when you just fold the pieces over entirely. The melted chocolate clusters throughout the cupcake definitely make it more interesting. Skipping the last bit of sugar and cinnamon is also an option of course.

A quick brownie

Sometimes the chocolate monster calls out and wants a sacrifice. I know, it’s a bit dramatic, but you know where I’m going if you’ve ever had that kind of urge. This mug cake will certainly help you there!

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of flour
  • 3-4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • A little baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • a little vanilla

Instructions

Combine all the ingredients in a mug until no more lumps are present, then microwave the mixture for about 1 minute and 30 seconds, or until cooked through .

I know the instructions sound “very detailed”, but that’s the beauty of these recipes. If you want to improve it further, feel free to introduce some chocolate chips. Or chocolate sauce or chocolate whatever for that matter. One of my little secrets is to put chocolate chips on it and let the finished product sit for a few moments. The chocolate chips will melt just enough to make it both look and taste absolutely divine.

Happy birthday to me cake

Birthday cake is one of the names of this cake, and if you like a simple vanilla cake with sprinkles, this version is exactly what you’re looking for.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of flour
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • A little baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of nuggets
  • 1.5 tablespoons of oil
  • A little vanilla extract
  • A little salt

Instructions

As for the others, just mix everything in the mug but leave the glitter aside for the moment. Once everything is smooth, introduce the glitter and give it one last good mixture. Microwave until firm to the touch. So about a minute should be enough.

advice

If you have whipped cream or ice cream at home, this will pair wonderfully. Again, feel free to experiment! Replace the chocolate chips with chocolate chips (see a pattern here?)

Chocolate pudding for one

Now, I firmly believe in doing everything from scratch, and pudding is no exception. But sometimes I’m really not in the mood to earn much, so here’s a nifty solution.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ tablespoon of starch
  • ½ tablespoon of flour
  • A pinch of salt
  • 10 tablespoons of milk

Instructions

Pour all the ingredients into a cup and stir well. You’ll want to microwave it at 30-second intervals and toss it thoroughly each time. It will get thicker, especially after the second round, and keep an eye out for it as it might overflow. You don’t want to have a mess in your microwave. When you are happy with the consistency … enjoy it! But keep in mind that the colder it is, the more difficult it will be. So stopping when it’s thick is usually sufficient.
